I keep seeing this historical “fact” but I can’t find anything corroborating it. “Hitler oaths” were already being taken since 1933, by June of 1935 the Reichswehr was replaced by the Wehrmacht.

FBI released these photos, looks like they are desperate for the public’s help now.

His last words on this earth, “violence”.

It’s the same issue that plagues every person that is soberly seeing the collapse of American democracy. We all want to take a stand but at the end of the day these Texas Dems need to get back home for family, be in their districts with their constituents, and somehow go on with life. Even though everything is on the line it’s still not enough to loose yet for people, including the larger Texas populace.

Fascinating book suggestion, thanks.

BlackSTONE has an office there but doesn’t look like the target. For future reference:

nyc primaries have terrible voter turnout, somewhere between 20-30% of registered dem voters in the city. Mamdani did get a record number of voters out to the polls but Cuomo’s camp is thinking they can reinvigorate the other 70% of dems who sat this primary out. So yes, Cuomo is banking on this but I hope his highly paid pol consultants are very wrong.

Alright I appreciate this but on mobile this isn’t always a convenient option. Mod removals should link to this automatically and be more transparent for why comments were removed in the first place. All I see is aggressive tactics and in this day and age speech should be protected first before automatic censorship.

My comment was something like “this is purely hyperbole but more brave Americans should hold ice to account” in the post about the 10 arrested folks in Texas. I’m not being pedantic I genuinely feel if a person lives in a fascist state then the individual has a right to hold the state to account for actions the state commits. I don’t see why I need to kowtow and sympathize with ICE… I just don’t know how else to describe my feelings.

Okay thanks I will take your word that those “violent comments” were there, since you hold all the evidence. I’m an adult and know if calls for violence go too far, I don’t need a mod to hide stuff from me and delete and lock comments without explanation.

I’m making plans to protest daily outside my representative’s local office. Rather than appear like a crazy person, which is often the case in NYC, I want to start some political awakening in my neighborhood. I live in a Republican district of the city and my neighborhood is ripe to learn how the GOP is raping this country, removing benefits that many low income people rely on, increasing our taxes, and becoming a Fascist state.

So, does the Lemmy community have any advice? What material should I distribute? Should I read the Constitution ad nauseam?

To the Americans here, I love each and everyone of you and we all deserve a safe and prosperous nation.

To my brothers and sisters worldwide, thank you for reading and for your solidarity.
