Enterprise theme song is GOAT

I haven't been awake long and can't think of a specific scene with background music

Not to take the whole thing too seriously, but it really depends on the tradition. Some believe in instant rebirth, some believe there is significant time between births, some believe there's time between births, but only from the perspective of the dead, on earth it's instant. Some believe it's nonlinear, your next life could be a thousand years in the past. There's a whooooole bunch of different ideas around reincarnation, even within the same traditions.

For me personally it's the sense of Community and moon worshipping. That and the ears.

Do you know about Mary the elephant who was sentenced to death by hanging? I lived in both the towns involved in that.

The party gays can be super cool. They'll hook you up if you're into it, and just appreciate the trip sitter/designated driver if not. Haha

Once gave a ride to a dude on Grindr that was leaving his abusive husband at 4am for similar reasons, didn't know the neighbors, didn't trust they wouldn't be violently anti gay.

Another time I was broke down on the side of the road and a dude came and hung out with me in freezing weather until the wrecker got there.

One other time I was broke down in a city an hour from home in a blizzard (I've had a lot of shitty cars) and a dude got me a hotel room for the night, no strings.

Grindr, and the gay community in general, can sometimes be really great places

Any advice on getting decent info for someone considering beginning that particular journey?

I wasn't aware of his real name, to be honest. Finding out both his name and his birthplace being West Virginia makes me think of the song Dooley, by the Dillards. I'd love to hear a star trekified version of it about Enabran Tain. Haha

I'm a caregiver for my mom, so I work in the home. I turned off all notifications. Texts, calls, all of it. If I leave the house, I'll unmute so I know if she calls me, because she may need actual help with something, but even then, it's literally just her on Whatsapp that goes through, nothing else.

I've never felt like I had a healthier relationship with my phone. I tend to scroll a little too much on Lemmy, watch too many YouTube shorts in the bathroom or while I'm cooking, but other than that, I feel like a normal human again for the first time since ~2010
