Who needs NOAA? We have Donald Trump with a Sharpie.

No, all he's really looking for is the affirmation he never got from his father. Fill the classified briefings with quotes from people who love him. Leave the details out of it.

I remember reading that the people who wrote the briefings last time had to make sure his name appeared in any section they wanted him to read, otherwise he's just skip it.

The 25th Amendment is written for a situation where the President is physically incapacitated and cannot relinquish his position. All the President has to do is state "Hey, I'm OK", and he gets his job back. The Cabinet is allowed to say "No, you're not", and then the matter goes to Congress, which needs 2/3 vote of both Houses to settle the matter. 2/3 of both Houses is an insanely high bar, and not liable to be met unless there is bipartisan agreement.

Now, I was an advocate of Biden stepping aside voluntarily and letting Harris gain the benefit of incumbency when he backed out of the campaign, but in retrospect that would have been a mistake also, because that would have tethered her more closely to the Biden Presidency and economy. (Plus, a new VP would need a vote in both houses, and we know Republicans would have let that sit out of spite, so that ties in the Senate could not be resolved.)

Not just "I've got mine". It's really "I've got mine, fuck you!"

It's selfishness and petty grievances blown all out of proportion.

Our only hope is if Project 2025 ends up not being implemented in full because of its one fatal flaw: Donald Trump didn't think of it first. He might ignore parts of it out of spite, just to make sure the Heritage Foundation understands that it is not President.

Back in 2015, who had "WWIII will start in the next 15 years, but the US and Russia will be the bad guys" on their bingo card?

Haha, that was a typo, but I'm leaving it anyway, it's fitting

I believe that there were a fair number of people who just couldn't check the box for any woman, but we're too afraid to admit it publically (or even to themselves). While their complaints about the economy were legit, they might have also been a convenient excuse to hide the misogyny.

And didn't Obama confront this head-on? He told Black men "Look, you may not be inclined to back the woman here, but backing that man in particular would be a disaster". And he was dismissed by many as lecturing too much.

The worst thing that ever happened to crypto was its price skyrocketing. It lost its utility for payments when everyone decided it was an asset and too valuable to spend.

Also, kids here on student visas now have to face the very real possibility they will get revoked and deported on a whim.

President Rodgers will turn Camp David into a Ayahuasca Retreat

On Monday, the mayor marched down Fifth Avenue during the annual Columbus Day Parade wearing a baseball cap supporting BOTH the Yankees and Mets! The hat featured a Mets logo on one side, an "X" in between and a Yankees logo on the other side. ... "No wonder Eric Adams got indicted, that hat is a crime against humanity," one user wrote in a post on X, formally Twitter.

The announcers were very excited about it while it happened

Biden’s campaign proposed that the first debate between the presumptive Democratic and Republican nominees be held in late June and the second in September before early voting begins. Trump responded to the letter in an interview with Fox News digital, calling the proposed dates “fully acceptable to me” and joked about providing his own transportation.
