We ladies must look desirable; the fashion styles changed to accentuate my hips and my tits, my baby making parts.

Bring back ostentatious codpieces for the dudes

He made a video about the Mig Switch and now Nintendo has its lawyers watching his channel like a hawk

With two strikes they could totally nuke the channel at any moment by copyright claiming any Nintendo footage or imagery he's shown in any video he's ever made

The reason they're turning random footnotes into movies or making up their own OCs like in the Amazon show is because they only have the LOTR trilogy and its appendices to work off of. The Tolkien estate made sure to keep the rights to Silmarillion, etc off limits

To be fair, the Amazon show is an entirely separate adaptation and has no relation to the Jacksonverse.

I would assume Warner Brothers would fuck him up in a different way. Judging from the quality of the writing in the Hobbit trilogy I would assume they'd turn Tom Bombadil into a stoner stereotype who also farts constantly or something

I love Ian McKellen as Gandalf but he was already noticeably older in the Hobbit movies. I can't even imagine how distracting it would be in this train wreck since he'd be about as ancient as Christopher Lee was in his Hobbit cameo

This takes place during the 17-year time skip between Bilbo's birthday party and when Frodo returns home to discover an agitated Gandalf in his home asking if the Ring's safe. What, you didn't think it felt like Gandalf going to read that diary in Gondor took 17 years??? Yeah, the movies kinda streamlined and simplified that part.

It's wild they're retroactively adding shit they just completely excised from the original film adaptations. What's next, a side movie about the Hobbits encountering the barrow wights and Tom Bombadil before they reach Bree? A movie about the Scouring of the Shire?

I'm assuming this will escalate to some insanely locked down DRM scheme. Guess I'll enjoy uBlock, ReVanced and yt-dlp while I can

[–] doublepepperoni@hexbear.net 1 points 1 year ago

Oh, definitely but it's shockingly bad when using YT without logging in

Yeah, as good as Youtube's algorithms are at pushing hardcore right-wing content on completely fresh accounts in like 3 clicks, my accounts have been around for so long that my recommends tend to be on the money most of the time.

I discover multiple new channels each month from my recommends whereas 10 years ago I'd occasionally check a channel that a friend recommended or was embedded on a forum post

They're just being dicks considering how tiny the Firefox userbase is

I fully expect to have to be fingeprinted, DNA tested and retinal scanned to access cOnTenT in a year or two

More like "retreat interactive VR power fantasies where you punch your boss and have sex with his girlfriend"
