Apple quietly introduced code into iOS 18.1 which reboots the device if it has not been unlocked for a period of time, reverting it to a state which improves the security of iPhones overall and is making it harder for police to break into the devices, according to multiple iPhone security experts

Click bait title as always. So yes, your iPhone is mysteriously rebooting. I guess it just isn't that big of a mystery anymore.

That was my point. Most countries that try to become communist start off as soviet and then collapse into totalitarian dystopias because they consolidate too much power into the state and don't have enough safeguards to prevent overreach. Russia did the same after the revolution. Enacting democratic votes and then ignoring them because communism wasn't popular for the masses. It's a fundamental problem.

zero cost to them

I would imagine it would reveal how sh*tty the ubisoft code bases are and has a reputation cost XD. But if it's that big of a risk then they should keep the servers running indefinitely.

I mean, that's basically all AAA games in 2024. Even songs PC ports which historically avoided DRM and network requirements is starting to mandate PSN accounts. I 100% would prefer to be able to play offline, more often than not it's unwanted telemetry or BS bloat but that isn't something we as users can enforce.

If you want the government to control the price of food, then you should probably move to a communist nation.

Don't threaten me with a good time. /s

JK. The US being the US they'd immediately turn into north Korea before adopting real communist policies.

Tbf most schools don't. Mine in the UK didn't either. Critical thinking isn't something a curriculum can teach you, it's something you need to pick up yourself and adapt from all the other things you're taught. School can definitely help you develop those skills tho although I think this is just another reflection of how badly the US invests in education. That and the rampant misinformation and propaganda all over the place that seems to teach people to only trust what reaffirms their own beliefs. Society is f*cked until we actually take a long hard look at where we are, why, and where we should be.

Was looking for this. Taboo. Watch taboo. Tom hardy smack dab in the middle of a war for power between the east India trading company, the royal crown and the new American government. Constantly shifting alliances to keep atop it while manifesting his own end game. It. Is. Phenomenal.

Also, obligatory, "I have a use for you!".

Trump doesn't fit in with republicans because he's objectively insane and will disregard any and all rules and conventions to get what he wants.

AOC doesn't fit in with Democrats because she's not from a rich family, seems to have actually had a minimum wage job and seems to want to actually improve the middle and lower classes lives instead of submit to corporations and collectively disregard what the voter base actually wants.

It is so depressing people see both of these as equivalently important.

And the rest of the world would have to find alternative currencies for trade. I expect China would be pretty happy over this.

Rapist, terrorist, moron. The trifecta. We're literally living in the worst timeline :/.

Explains why control panel and settings are both still a thing like a decade after they said they'd be removing the former.

That's stupid. People won't show up tp vote for a party that doesn't represent their values and the dems aren't just entitled to votes because trump is the opponent. You can't win an election on just "the other guy is worse". You need policies that galvanise your voter base and actually makes a difference in their lives so they don't feel voting for either party is a waste of time. Objectively trump is worse but it's on the dems to convince the voters of that and they failed horribly.

Hi folks, first time poster so let me know if this kinda post belongs anywhere else. Just saw alien romulus and wanted to see others thoughts on the movie :-).

Personally the visuals were great and the xenomorph itself terrifying but I didn't care much for the story and the characters seemed a little 2dimensional. I also think it drifted a little away from the fear factor to shock. I'd say 6/10. Enjoyable watch but nothing special.
