Every file already has a unique 6 digit code and a QR code has already been generated, the client wants this in a form they can scan the existing QR code and bring up the relevant report for it. Nextcloud would work if only it had the ability to scan in to the search box, I think we are going to start looking at a bespoke solution as there seems to nothing out there, which is surprising as it’s such a simple idea.

I have used Vultr for about 6 years now and never had any issues, I asked for port 25 when I signed up and they said no, I waited for couple of months and politely asked again and they did open it, I used a free SMPT service while I waited, https://www.smtp2go.com/pricing/ have a free plan if you send less than 1k emails per month.

Nextcloud was looking promising but you can only type in text not scan with camera, open to suggestions.

Thanks
