Just to preface my opinion, I think it’s ok to disagree on this haha. HOWEVER I don’t think it’s much of a travesty anytime Chakotay didn’t get to have a main plot. He’s a really wooden actor (made all the more obvious by mulgrew’s strength) who was given a really poorly defined character (as you can see by the way his hobbies are, like, whatever they needed to be for the plot to move? And never the same?) And sure, the powers that be wanted eye candy… but seven did end up being a super substantial character. She had some of the best stories and made all the best characters better just by being there. She was an amazing foil!

Sitting in the splash zone of this whole thing, Matt’s contribution to the project is a net negative. Professionally and personally, he is seems unable or unwilling to deescalate conflict. In fact, he creates conflict where none is necessary, and then seems to act shocked and disappointed at the results.

He makes decisions unilaterally that don’t reflect what a thoughtful steward of an open source project would do. (And I say this as a proponent of the idea of the block editor, and as someone for whole building sites with blocks is my bread and butter- except I use ACF, full disclosure.) an example, picayune as it may seem, is the function capital_P_dangit().

It’s not picayune, by the way.

And now this mess. This is by far the most destructive thing he’s done. He needs to be removed.

I was just mentioning Britanny Murphy’s performance to my husband the other day, she was such an island of (hilarious) sincerity in a perfect river of satire.

Also I think I say “it’d be real easy” like … once a week?

“Drive me home?”

“Don’t let her fool you, she lives two trailers down!”

“So? It’d be real easy!”

The Spanish Prisoner. I won’t spoil anything, but Steve Martin’s performance is remarkable!

Primer is another movie I’ve returned to over and over.

Also, Ever After for comfort.

+1 for drop dead gorgeous, my favorite comedy along with muppets from space.

I heard about it when it was in development but hadn’t followed up! I still have escape velocity on my 2024 Mac but maybe I will check I out the loving homage.

Escape velocity (1996, ambrosia software game for macOS). My favorite computer game of all time I think.

Little app only for the Apple Watch called Nomi that I like. Doesn’t get updated anymore but still works. It’s a couple bucks, and I’ve enjoyed it for years

I am getting towards the end of a ds9 rewatch (one episode before bed most nights) and I’m getting so happy to get to a voyager rewatch! It’s months away but still. (Not that I don’t like ds9, particularly the latter half.)

There’s like… no downside: all upside.

Edit: I exaggerated, of course. Below this are some downsides that individuals have experienced. But personally, my experience using Firefox on desktop for Mac has been all upside. If everybody who can just tries it out, you might be surprised at how friction-free the change is.
