I use a 120hz phone, but I don't need this feature in a browser, only maybe in an app

You can "increase" your privacy but there's some limit, you can't block the manufacturer integrated trackers, the best you can is using something like rethink to block foreign app's trackers. Nothing more.

100% right this is the way of helping the piracy

No logs policy are not trustworthy

So are the apps blocked even when you are not using the play services?

As other said, it's surely related to the LAN traffic and not the WAN traffic only your router sends some packets but it shouldn't be Windows. Little tips if you don't want telemetry and tracking, simply use Linux.

Hey, I'm always searching a home server (already post here https://lemmy.ml/post/15083947), I was thinking about a Lenovo P500, but maybe the PSU is a bit too special... My budget around $140, will buy used parts and one of the most important thing is the power efficiency (don't care about the peak wattage but want to stay around 50W idle and settling at about 70W when doing some work). Preferably I wouldn't like to buy mini PCs. 😃 Thx!

Just a simple question : Which file system do you recommend for Linux? Ext4...?

EDIT : Thanks to everyone who commented, I think I will try btrfs on my root partition and keep ext4 for my home directory 😃

EDIT : I'm going to use a Lenovo P500 (at around $130) with 8 threads (will upgrade it later) and 64gb of RAM. It support the E5 v4 family so that's great. If someone knows the power consumption, that would be cool!

Hello, I want to build a "homelab" and I'm searching for a server, what do you propose me as good options? I need something with at least 64gb RAM, can buy used, and minimum 16vcores.. Around 150$ If you have any good options let's comment below 👇 THX ❤

Hello, I want to self-hosted apps get requests from the users (mainly movies), and then I can find a download for it to move it to a jellyfin server. Maybe after that, it could be a little more automated to download stuff automatically 😃 Thx

Hey, I'm in the way of building my homelab already thinking of some apps to run on it... Truenas in a VM, a Debian VM to run docker. And on this point, do you a have some docker apps recommandations? Write down all the apps that worth looking at them 👇👇

Hi, I would know what are the differences between the vm-designed Kali Linux ISO and the "normal" one. Yes the vm-designed one is as "vm ready file", already configure and all the stuff... but what are the real differences, for example it says on the website that the vm one is isolated, but is this already not the case of a vm? And what is snapshots and vagrant image? thank you

Hello, I'm a bit new to advanced linux and programming stuffs... Can someone explain me why compiling exists and what this process does and how to do it in the principals situations (I've heard that you can use the "makepkg" command). Thx to everyone who replied.

I've installed Arch Linux with KDE Plasma 6 on it, but the widget system tray is not working as intended... Does someone have a solution? THX

Do I need to install the desktop env when installing a distro or do I need to install blank Linux and install a clean desktop env later? Thank you! 😃👌

I have some concerns about this app and I'm asking if it's useful or not, not the app itself but more the 3 protocols included in it. I2P, DNSCrypt and TOR. What is you opinion?
