As "hardcore-left" as I am, I just cannot fathom, being so dumb to not vote "to show the dems". The policies of bad Republican presidents hurt us till today. Think about Reagan vastly accelerating the gap between rich and poor, or Nixon with his failed war drugs.

It has, as voter turnout could be significantly better. It's not yet clear what it is, but so far it doesn't look very good.
Yeah that annoys me actually more. You often already see in the beginning what kind of (predictable) romance is developing, which just distracts from the main and more interesting plot, adding some kind of annoying drama that is just not necessary.
And from the downvotes I conclude that this will remain a mostly secret judge. It's sad, that you don't see it yet, this will very likely be the future whether you like it or not (when we don't fuck it up completely, but I'm somewhat hopeful).
The argument that meat is cheaper is also not really true anymore. There's basically no reason to eat meat anymore. Matter of fact, I developed a distaste to meat when I mostly stopped with eating meat, after eating way too much before (tastes kind of rotten compared to plant-based), try it out, it's easier than you think, and gets easier over time.
Eating meat although they're fully aware, that we have to shift completely away of that (GHG emissions, land-use), and then blame the government that they need to regulate this more.
Yes more government regulations would be great, but it's one of the few individual things that have effect, if everyone would think similar. And a vegan or mostly vegan diet is not really worse in taste and likely more healthy as well... Eating meat is not sustainable (nor morally justifieable), it should be a thing of the past...

Yeah I wish I could vote or have some influence over people who would vote for Trump or not at all. But I'm european, so I can mostly just hope that a large amount of muricans don't fuck everything up...
4o is also not really much better than 4, they likely just optimized it among others by reducing the model size. IME the "intelligence" has somewhat degraded over time. Also bigger Model (which in tha past was the deciding factor for better intelligence) needs more energy, and GPT5 will likely be much bigger than 4 unless they somehow make a breakthrough with the training/optimization of the model...
For that he first has to lose the election. Because for whatever reason he is still allowed to run for presidency has a realistic chance of winning and can pardon him self. Damn Murica is so fucked. Honestly unfortunately mostly unrealistic: a systemic chage towards deliberative democracy (not just USAs broken electoral democracy) would be the best according to most political science. It's (way to) slowly happening in some European states (so the right shift may reverse that trend again). This indirection vie simple voting tends to lean towards populism and manipulation. Which got unfortunately incredibly obvious in the presidential election...
