Best guide I'm aware of for custom templates is https://remarkable.jms1.info/templates/

It's by a member of this sub, though I forget their handle

I find sometimes the rM is snappier after a restart. So if not the update itself, the fact that the tablet was restarted to apply it might have made a difference

The swipe gesture works for switching back and forth, but personally I find it's a bit too slow if you're jumping back and forth a lot.

If possible for your workflow, I'd recommend writing everything in one document and then cut/pasting the relevant parts to the secondary notebook after the meeting. The lasso tool works great for this and it's a huge upgrade from a paper based workflow IMO

If you like pen and paper, odds are you're going to love the rM2. Having all of your notes, along with books, articles, etc in one small package is pretty great.

Generally the people who are unhappy with the reMarkable are looking for something closer to an iPad (which it is definitely not).

Another option: the reMarkable planner I make has very good support for lefties (link nav is on the right side). There's a free Nov/Dec pdf you can try to see if you like it

Personally, as much as I love the rM, I don't really find its organizational tools to be that useful. Tags were promising but ultimately take too many taps to get back to.

95% of my use of the device is in pdfs, where you can organize and navigate inside the document using hyperlinks. For me personally, this works far better than the folder/tag/notebook approach.
