How do you suppose to achieve this with a Death Note?

[–] gajahmada@awful.systems 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I get why folks who are more involved in their devices or prefer more customization may not like Apple products, but a lot of people just see them as a device to connect to the internet or write papers etc. and that’s about it. Folks like Apple because it works for them.

Right, and I don't get why this is so hard to grasp, if questions like OP are in good faith.

More often than not it's just to start circlejerking with the same argument over and over.

I never owned Apple product but have tried it once for trial purpose, its my sister's iPhone something a few years back before covid. I nearly barfed, not because it's a bad hardware but because it's just not for me.

So for me its still Android, and google make it more and more irritating but we don't have other options don't we?

Way over my head for filthy casual like me, but I get the gist.

I also have OCI instance (it just run wireguard), so what is the proper way of doing this?

Scurrilous by Protest the Hero

It's their turning point, the last album with og line-up. Rody (vocal) taking charge of the lyrics. Simple drum (set up), insane riff, varied theme.

From the futility of suicide, cancer, to record label greed.

I mean I like their newer material even more, but this one special to me.

Yeah, I felt a little tingle when I read the "jab" at Mastodon, I don't even use Mastodon lol.

So is there any more generic "social" apps beside microblogging like Bluesky? The other example there felt too niche to me, I don't even know what I'm looking at.

Is there a Lemmy/Reddit adjacent thing there?

Americans don’t do that. They literally keep track of exactly stuff like xkcd shows

Did they do it with most sports? I only seen it in baseball and american football, probably also basketball huh.

This is just silly, but I'll chime in I guess.

I'm guessing you only ever deal with public trackers om the torrent sode of things.

Since I'm on private trackers (someone with usenet subs probably feel the same) the quality and moderation is far better than the streaming sites.

Also, I'm off the legit streaming sites like Netflix because I'm tired of them shoving things I do not care.

Setting it up the first time is a hassle but nowadays, I'll just open up my Seer instance and that's it. This inclide movies, shows, and anime. I don't hoard.

I know it's available cuz there will be a notification for it, most just a few hours after the broadcast at most.

I just open JF and watch it, idk what's more convenient than that.

I don't count since I do not care about stats. But my whole family use it. Shows/movie for my parents, k-drama/anime for me and sibling.

Interesting.

As a woman, I can walk around the city without covering my hair and not be bothered by anyone.

Is this true in general? Is Mecca (or Medina for that matter) included?

I never been there, but my folks have for Hajj. You can probably guess the country, we have the largest Muslim by population.

So my anecdote for Saudi generally refer to those two particular place.

I used to work front-line CS for e-commerce owned by Alibaba in my country.

So several times a day. Never felt rage like those ever since. I last 2 months.

I would argue it being cross-platform is magical.

There also copyparty. I don't personally used it but their release video is fun AF.

many apps that don't support it.

Yeah, that is one thing making it harder. I use traefik-forward-auth/tiny Auth for that and honestly I still can't make some apps work properly.

But at least the most used one are in place now and seems fine UX-wise (JF, vaultwarden, navidrome and frigate).

I'm doing this just because I want to stop relying on CF tunnel and just use my public ipv6, but I don't think I'm ready security-wise.

And cf tunnel and other overlay network solution like Tailscale have a penalty on performance for me because their closest server are on the neighboring country.

This is me last Friday. Wanted SSO passkey so bad I pulled an all-nighter to make it work between 3 different machines.

I love passkey so I adamant on Pocket ID. End up hammering on it till 3AM with no success in sight, turns-out nothing is wrong with anything config-wise. I just wasn't aware the bridge network you create didn't enable ipv6 by default. Passed out at 5AM lol.

Now my sistet can't complaint about so many password to manage.

End up canceling going out with friends Saturday night cuz I was already sleeping soundly at 8 PM.
