I like scrolling through sotc posts for inspiration and noticed women’s collections are relatively rare but usually well received on this sub, so I thought I’d share mine.

  1. Longines Elegant collection, 25.5mm, automatic

I feel something unique to women in this hobby, that differentiates from men, is the consideration for jewelry when selecting a watch. I want a two tone for the first and, I thought, only (ha!) “adult” watch I would buy so I could wear with both silver and gold.

I also really enjoy that its an automatic on a strictly ladies watch as that seems quite rare. With the white dial and stick indices its casual enough for work but small and dainty enough to go with evenings and fancy events. All in all, I think this Longines has a lot going for it, despite being a style that is pretty common across many brands.

  1. Rotary, Quartz Next I wanted a chunky men’s watch for when I wasn’t in the mood for dainty and small and I thought a dive watch would be nice as a “nod” towards my recently acquired scuba hobby, even if I had no plans for taking it into even the shower with me, let alone the ocean.

I flirted with the idea of a Tudor BB 58 for a long while but it was just too bulky on my wrist. I’m so glad I went with the Rotary, its nice that its not so expensive I feel I have to be precious about it, that I can wear it on sporty days, leave it on the edge of a swimming pool to check with wet hands, etc.

  1. Cartier Tank Must small, quartz

My last and most recent purchase. I was soooo hoping to prefer the cheaper Longines Dolce Vite in person but nope, it was love at first try-on :)))) I love that it doesn’t draw a lot of attention to itself in daily life but it really is “jewelry-like” as many people have said online. It sounds a bit dramatic to say, but it really is like a confidence boost to have on my wrist, a feeling of having “made it.” I just love it!
