I'm in a similar place as the OP.
One question I have is about Vanadium. This is chrome based, right? Is it really the best/most secure browser? Aren't the better secured flavors of Firefox better (LibreWolf, Fennic, etc.)?
Brand new the 6a is just over $400. That seems pretty reasonable to me for a modern smartphone.
You could probably get a used one for less.
I think the implied premise of this article that the young will "catch up" with retirees is quite flawed. Not saying there aren't issues here but anyone in their 20s and 30s will not be as well off as most are in their 60s and 70s.
But of course. Did you think you were only going to be ignored as a kid?
Sometimes I go above and beyond and TAKE a cart from the parking lot into the store and use it when I arrive. Imagine if everyone did that.

A few notes:
Own music, do not rent.
I'm buying CDs from smaller labels directly. Cheaper than Scamazon sometimes. A couple examples: https://metalblade.indiemerch.com/collections/cds https://metalonmetalrecords.com/shop/
My library has loaned me many CDs over the years. I still have an external CD burner I can connect to my PC. Thank you, library.
Used media stores are awesome. Give them your business.
ETA: Corrected link to Metal On Metal records shop.
I can't you either.
Twinklebreeze.
I dropped Scamazon Slime a long time ago when I figured out they were not meeting their 2 day shipping promise. I really have never missed it.
Could you kindly explain why it meets your needs best?
