IIRC most of those communities are for political news and NOT discussion.

What? They didn’t sign the treaty. The treaty was between the PRC and the UK. HK didn’t sign….

No, the game data itself is 1 TB, but 29TB is their code to change colors

HK has been politically part of PRC since, what, 97? It is not moving closer to China at this point. After Beijing installed a puppet, it became a definitive part of PRC. Hell, they are arresting news organizations. The UK held up their end of the deal, and PRC isn’t following through on theirs

Man, Trump chose someone from Ohio to be his running mate. I mean come on, the one thing Michiganders can agree on is that we hate Ohio - red or blue. Why would you want to elevate someone from Ohio as VP?

I did some math assuming lowest population is 1 seat and rounding to the nearest whole number based on 2020 census using that factor.

We should have 574 seats with 676 electors. I didn’t include Puerto Rico or overseas who didn’t claim a state.

To be honest, I’m not sure it applies.

The electoral college is an institution where electors cast votes to elect the President. In theory, it allows electors to choose a different president if the population chooses someone terrible.

It’s not /supposed/ to favor red states. However the formula for counting number of electors relies on the number of representatives in the house. That is fixed at 435 by law. To fix the electoral college, we’d have to remove that cap and it would work the way the founders intended.

But then, you’d need a helluva lot of dissenters to change. Is it possible? Sure. Is this system built for current day population and densities? Arguably not

I’m confused. You don’t know that the sun will rise tomorrow - you believe it will. Science is our best guess at how the universe around us works. Geocentric was how we believed the universe worked until that theory was proven to be wrong.

You know the current theory, and based on that knowledge you can believe it will rise. There could be some phenomenon that will turn the sun dark for 7 days that is not part of the current model. It’s unlikely, but possible.

Knowledge is the understanding of that which will not change. Yes, you can modify the theory tomorrow but it will not be the same theory as today. That’s why it’s knowable
