If it functions like the headline suggests;

It's for when you're already on the phone with them, if they start asking for your name, address and social security number the systems says "scam detected".

I know their article is bogus, but I could see some one trying claiming this...

"Omg this peanut butter didn't say it contained peanut butter, so I thought it was safe for little Billy. Now he's dead and its all their fault for not labeling the peanut butter properly"

standardebooks.org is a great site for reading classics.

They make very nicely formated ebooks for our enjoyment. Defiantly better than the wall of text you'll get from the .txt version or a lazily converted ebub.

Last time I was gifted socks...they were the wrong one (somehow, I get my socks from Walmart, so I'm not too picky, or so I thought). I'm pretty sure it was an amazon special - anyways now I tell everyone I'm super picky about socks or that I have 20 pairs already.

I found a solid metal strainer, not mesh for my sink. Holds up forever and much easier to clean. Even if you have a disposal, its not great to just dump everything down the drain [citation needed]. You especially want to catch things like small bones and forks.

The disposals seem common enough, a lot older/outdated homes don't have them. I have no idea what they're putting into new houses and renovations.

Never had an under the sink mess like you describe, maybe yours just had a small leak?

I always liked Qui-Gon.

A Jedi who was always true to his faith in the force and never fell into to the politics of the order.

Probably 10 minutes, but by that point they had to double down for the shareholders and as long as everyone copied, they were good.

As someone who needs GPS a lot for work, having it on the large display is very nice. I think the sweet spot is around 7 inches; big enough for maps, but leave enough space for everything else.

The best is when they display the "next step" right on the dash. Too bad my work vehicle doesn't do that.

I suppose, but if you're going for the American diner experience, you might as well go with a good one. Or just try all of them.

Are IHOP and Denny's still good in Texas? Where I'm at, you're better off with a box of your own pancake mix. I tend to find local dinners offer much better food.

Happens to me all the time too, I'll open it via the notification and it just won't show up.

Or I'll delete an email about 5 time until its finally gone.

Android Tablets (lemmy.world)

Does anyone have good experience with android tablets, and possibly replacing the OS? I see some interesting options from Google, lenovo, one plus, etc... I imagine the pixel one will be the easiest to load a new OS to, but I also wonder about the tablet support of things like lineage or graphine.

The hardware doesn't have to be groundbreaking, just good enough to be my "travel laptop" for movies, comics and general interneting. I don't want a laptop, as I often like to sit in chair/bed to read comics or watch movies and a keyboard would make that awkward.

One of my main concerns is the update support - my iPad has been getting updates since 2017, a lot of the android manufactures are promising a pathetic 3 to 5 years. I don't want to be "software bricked" in 5 years (I.e apps eventually requiring an Android version I cannot update to)
