I bougt a 2nd-hand APC 1500 smartups without battery for 40 Euro's . It is running for over 10 years. I replaced the batteries twice with clone batteries. (They last about 4 years)
I use Ubuntu server exclusively. I invested in knowlegde for Ubuntu server os. It just works
