That's a liberal extension of the definition. I wouldn't consider this anywhere close to traditional/established key logging.
You are normal and have every right to be bothered by it. Have a chat with them and let them know how much it bugs you, and offer them an easy fix: just provide context.
Where I live, the business can choose. We have both options. People rarely choose the full serve since it's more expensive.
RIF is hot garbage for UI though.

If you look at my post again, you'll find that I tried to suggest that when you make your own app (and you should), you should decide on your cost model which sounds like it'll be free. I eagerly await your release!
