I mean, that is a bit pretentious, TBF.

I used to look down on people who got iPhones, but I realised it's not their fault, there isn't much choice when it comes to good, dependable, usable smartphones that have years of updates. I'm a Pixel owner, and it's basically the same thing from the other side. Backed by one of the richest companies. The same goes with Samsung, although I personally find their phone software to be really mid.

KDE very recently implemented some HDR support thanks to Valve, GNOME is still waiting on some PR getting merged.

Use KDE on the very latest kernel on Wayland, in theory it should work well but YMMV.

The idea is that the base should be open, so you can build whatever you want on top of it.

What about ¥?

[–] isVeryLoud@lemmy.ca 1 points 10 months ago

It's useful for in-house streaming, like with Valve's SteamLink, but aside from that, meh

I'm not too sure, my reply was a question. I fail to see how it could cause a fire.

Is it because USB C can be host AND device while Mini USB is only device?

[–] isVeryLoud@lemmy.ca 1 points 10 months ago

I mean TBF, everyone speculated that Apple would do some wacky antics to avoid putting a USB C port in their phones, like providing an adapter or removing it altogether.

God willed it.
