On Thursday, Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison shared his vision for an AI-powered surveillance future during a company financial meeting, reports Business Insider. During an investor Q&A, Ellison described a world where artificial intelligence systems would constantly monitor citizens through an extensive network of cameras and drones, stating this would ensure both police and citizens don't break the law.

"Neither major candidate was able to make serious commitments to our union to ensure the interests of working people are always put before Big Business," Teamsters General President Sean O'Brien said in a statement.

He added, "We sought commitments from both [former president Donald] Trump and [Vice President Kamala] Harris not to interfere in critical union campaigns or core Teamsters industries—and to honor our members’ right to strike—but were unable to secure those pledges."

The Teamsters, which represents truck drivers, freight workers and others, held similar meetings with Trump and President Joe Biden when he was still seeking re-election.

On Wednesday, the union released the results of their survey, which was conducted after Biden dropped out of the race. It found that almost 60% of rank-and-file union members preferred to endorse Trump, while 34% backed Harris, according to an electronic member poll. A phone poll indicated similar margins, with 58% supporting Trump and 31% supporting Harris.

"While the Teamsters Executive Board is making no formal endorsement, the hardworking members of the Teamsters have been loud and clear— they want President Trump back in the White House!" said campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt in a statement. "These hardworking men and women are the backbone of America and President Trump will strongly stand up for them when he’s back in the White House."^[[1] https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/teamsters-union-declines-endorse-presidential-election-breaking-decade-rcna171711]

KYIV — His severe wounds will no doubt alter the course of his life, but the 19-year-old Ukrainian paratrooper has no regrets about the part he played in the surprise and dramatic cross-border incursion into Russia’s Kursk region launched in mid-August.

Like his brothers in arms, he felt exhilarated when the order to attack came crackling along the radio airwaves as the sun rose. Here was the chance to hit back at Russia. “I felt myself a part of history, because it was the first time since the Second World War Russia’s been invaded,” Sergei, the flaxen-haired trooper, told POLITICO, who granted him permission to use a pseudonym as he is not allowed to speak to media.

Like all websites, there are fake ones and then there are official ones.

Many will be clones of what the original website looked like.

Wrong question and framing.

Israel's goal is not to get rid of Hamas or their leadership.

Their real goal has been to continue the genocide of the Palestinian people so as to take 100% control of the Palestinian land and to kickout the natives.

TAMPA — The Uhurus said their support of Russia was free speech. On Thursday, a federal jury said it was a crime.

“The most important thing is they were unable to convict us of working for anybody except Black people,” Omali Yeshitela, the longtime leader of the Uhuru Movement and its umbrella organization, the African People’s Socialist Party, said afterward on the courthouse steps. “I am willing to be charged and found guilty of working for Black people.”

Wednesday's rulings were the latest turn in the on-again, off-again saga of ballot access for independent and third-party candidates in Georgia. An administrative law judge disqualified West, De la Cruz, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and the Georgia Green Party from the ballot. But Raffensperger, who gets the last word in such matters, overruled the judge, and said West and De la Cruz should get access.

Raffensperger also ruled that under a new Georgia law, Stein should go on Georgia ballots because the national Green Party had qualified her in at least 20 other states.

Georgia is one of several states where Democrats and allied groups have filed challenges to third-party and independent candidates. ^[[1] https://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/judge-disqualifies-cornel-west-running-president-georgia-113604500]

De la Cruz and West – both of whom submitted more than the required 7,500 signatures to gain ballot access – have said they are prepared to take the case to the Georgia Supreme Court.

The Georgia Democratic Party didn't let up, making moves to appeal the secretary of state's order.

De la Cruz's running mate, Karina Garcia, slammed the Democrats for trying to strip third-party ballot access: "Unable to defend their pro-corporate and pro-war record, the Democratic Party's desperate plan is to twist the law to remove any alternatives from the ballot to cement the system of two-party rule. Working people are in crises, and neither party has any real answers."

Harris or Trump, we will continue to fund Israel and support them until the end.

In the duopoly debate, they were trying to show off who supports Israel the most.

Trump: "She hates Israel, she wouldn't even meet with Netanyahu..."

Harris: "That's absolutely not true, I have my entire career and life supported Israel"

Israel’s military has said it was highly likely its troops fired the shot that killed Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi, the American-Turkish woman killed at a protest in the occupied West Bank.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said her death was unintentional and expressed deep regret.

The statement came as Antony Blinken, the US secretary of state, called the killing of the 26-year-old last week “unprovoked and unjustified”.

As well as the squad and AOCPelosi.

True, and we will continue to vote them in with much praise.

No past, present, or future president will go to jail for war crimes.

Duopoly will continue the status quo.

Today Israeli forces killed Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi, a Turkish-US citizen, in the West Bank, shooting her in the head as she protested one of the country’s growing and accelerating illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory. The US and Israeli governments are claiming that it is unclear who killed her, but as multiple US outlets report, eyewitnesses and Palestinian officials in the territory say she was killed by Israeli gunfire, and the Israeli military admits that it shot at the protesters.

And . . . that’s it.

No statement from the president, vice president, or any administration official. No condemnation of the unnamed killers, not even a tepid one, nor is there any vow that they will be brought to justice.

In fact, reading the US statements, you wouldn’t even know that Eygi was killed by anyone — just that she tragically, mysteriously died, somehow. Nor has she received the warm, lengthy tributes to her life, character, and future dreams that officials rightly included in their statements on Goldberg-Polin. While officials went to great lengths to demonstrate their grief over his death, the response to Eygi is markedly emotionless.

In fact, we could just look at the last couple of weeks alone, when multiple US citizens have been attacked and shot by Israeli forces and settlers at the exact same protest that Eygi was killed at, and US officials not only didn’t utter a peep about it, they didn’t even bother contacting and checking in on them.In fact, we could just look at the last couple of weeks alone, when multiple US citizens have been attacked and shot by Israeli forces and settlers at the exact same protest that Eygi was killed at, and US officials not only didn’t utter a peep about it, they didn’t even bother contacting and checking in on them.

The end result is that the Israeli government effectively has a green light to kill Americans whenever it wants — a green light, and the means to do so, since these murders are supplied and underwritten by the US government itself.

Given that the Israeli military has itself now killed more than forty-thousand people, engaged in sickening sexual torture, and now also killed US citizens, what does that say about the Israel Defense Forces? And why is the US government still giving such an institution billions of dollars in military aid?

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Trial began Tuesday in Florida for four activists accused of illegally acting as Russian agents to help the Kremlin sow political discord and interfere in U.S. elections.

All four are or were affiliated with the African People’s Socialist Party and Uhuru Movement, which has locations in St. Petersburg, Florida, and St. Louis. Among those charged is Omali Yeshitela, the 82-year-old chairman of the U.S.-based organization focused on Black empowerment and the effort to obtain reparations for slavery and what it considers the past genocide of Africans.

Closer ties with Russia bolster Beijing’s efforts to use its currency more in global trade

China’s use of the renminbi in cross-border transactions has reached record highs this year, as closer ties with Russia bolster Beijing’s efforts to internationalise its currency and cut dependence on the US dollar.

“The sanction situation created a huge stimulus for China to develop its [financial] system and to develop solutions to link China’s system with the Russian one,” said Alexandra Prokopenko, a research fellow at the Carnegie Institute in Berlin.

“By international standards it’s not a great achievement,” said Lai. At the same time, he noted, “they have obviously improved”.

Globally the renminbi is still a distant second to the dollar for trade financing. It also makes up just 4.74 per cent of global payments, behind the dollar, euro and sterling, according to the most recent data from international payments network Swift.

China “is not seeking to topple the dollar’s global dominance”, said McDowell. “That comes with a lot of responsibility and accepting certain vulnerabilities . . . China’s motives here are primarily about autonomy and resilience.”

Pavel Durov's arrest suggests that the law enforcement dragnet is being widened from private financial transactions to private speech.

The arrest of the Telegram CEO Pavel Durov in France this week is extremely significant. It confirms that we are deep into the second crypto war, where governments are systematically seeking to prosecute developers of digital encryption tools because encryption frustrates state surveillance and control. While the first crypto war in the 1990s was led by the United States, this one is led jointly by the European Union — now its own regulatory superpower.

Durov, a former Russian, now French citizen, was arrested in Paris on Saturday, and has now been indicted. You can read the French accusations here. They include complicity in drug possession and sale, fraud, child pornography and money laundering. These are extremely serious crimes — but note that the charge is complicity, not participation. The meaning of that word “complicity” seems to be revealed by the last three charges: Telegram has been providing users a “cryptology tool” unauthorised by French regulators.

Anti-Israel hackers stole troves of sensitive Israeli data and are now publishing gigabytes of secret and classified information. Unable to stop the hacks, Israel is waging a futile war to against the leaks

A few months ago, foreign hackers managed to break into a computer linked to Israel's Justice Ministry. Tens of thousands of classified files and sensitive emails were leaked. Links allowing anyone to download the breached files were published on Telegram, the popular instant messaging app.
