Like Constellis?

“Unionize, join the party, and eat the rich.”

That tracks. I volunteered with a week long program to teach html and the basics of building a website, and I went back to work after day one because all the students picked social media marketing. 😆

It’s startup math.

Evangelicals have always been garbage people, and Trump is the latest god of their bullshit.

The article supposes they were good people at one time. No they weren’t.

Debian in WSL is my single favorite thing about Windows work laptop. Real tools! 😃

I’m back on windows for work after a decade away, and all the reasons I left are still there. The tools are still lacking, the layout is non-sensical, prototyping requires expensive subscriptions, and it’s not designed to get work done.

*nixes and macOS, to a lesser extent, are much nicer. The *nixes are designed to get work done. I have my gripes, but good lord they’re small comparatively.

True. Ideally the Amish would have a “immigrated”, assimilated, and become another tribe in the area hundreds of years ago. However, this is still a better outcome than the tribes still litigating treaties signed hundreds of years ago, like in Oklahoma.

“Surprising” or “unexpected” are probably a better words due to connotations and all.

Agreed.

Vim/Neovim and Spacemacs (Emacs) are so much more addictive than NPP.

That’s cool if NPP is OP’s thing, but there are quite a few text editors which check those boxes in the *nix world.

It is, which is rather annoying.

I should spend some more time with the FOSS forges, but bare git works for me when I’m self-hosting my own repos.

The workflow is also kind of obtuse.

FD: I prefer GitLab between the two.

It’s possible. That’s basically web scraping.

Does anyone have USB-C dock recommends?

I have a Thinkpad P1 gen 4 running Fedora I’m going to be using as my desktop replacement, and I’m looking for a Linux friendly dock.

I don’t need the dock to do much. Ideally, it could drive 2x 4K DisplayPort displays, have a 2.5Gb+ Ethernet port, and a couple USB-A ports, but 2x 2K DisplayPort and 1GbE work too.

Preferred price is <$150.
