No it's not. Both the trolley problem and the prisoners dilemma are individual event thought experiments.

Real life is different, it is continuous. The rational choice for an individual event can be very different than a continuous one.

Take the prisoner's dilemma (or game theory) for instance, it is the rational decision (nash equilibrium) to rat your fellow prisoner out but if you have to do it again and again, then the best strategy is to NOT rat out your fellow prisoner (only rat when they ratted you out in the last round).

Reality is often like this, and elections are also like this. It gets complicated real fast.

Afd had a huge young voter base in the recent german elections.

But they are not social creatures, so if they were, even when they died someone in the social group could still teach the youngs

I recently asked a friend of mine something similar and i will add it here for the sake of discussion.

We need to fulfill our basic needs in order to be happy and content with life. There are 3 basic/main categories:

1: bodily needs: better diet, exercise etc.

2: mental needs: intellectual conversation/pondering, reading/writing a book, even playing some video games etc.

3: spiritual needs: religion/hope for a better time and better place

I would also add one more,

4: social needs: spending time with friends and family, doing something for the community, relationships and dating etc.

Since my friend and I are religious, 3 makes sense on its own. But you might need to think about what it means to you. Imo the most important part is having hope.

Personally for me, its 1 and 4 that i struggle the most with. And in the end, its okay to be wrong and try different things and formulas to find what works best for you.

Don't be afraid to make mistakes! You live and you learn!

I really thought by making intentional mistakes in my comment people would be able to see the OBVIOUS sarcasm, but I guess not....

This is a by-product of modern society (maybe late stage capitalism). We need to be sold a "solution" to a problem. Reducing consumption is not something that can easily be sold hence these carbon capture, recycling plastic "solutions".

Unless someone can make money off of it, reducing emissions is going to be difficult.

He wants money/power, and he is getting it. The rest of the AI field will forever be haunted by his greed.

The saddest part is, this is going to cause yet another AI winter. The first few ones were caused by genuine over-enthusiasm but this one is purely fuelled by greed.

Edit:

Is it so hard for people to see sarcasm?
