Future generations are largely doomed by the apathy of the "we have nothing to hide" folks of today, or those who buy into the its "for the children" movement.

Absolutely. IIRC, the option of turning them off was only available to very high ranking members and even then only for relatively short periods of time.

Errm. Weren't the Taliban in control before the coalition went into Afghanistan, and I'm pretty sure last time I heard anything about Afghanistan the Taliban were still there in control.
