I think Microsoft is too reliant on advertising money for this pattern to hold true anymore. The pattern reads like superstition in the first place.

Is there something like LTSC/LTSB for Windows 11?

I have Win10LTSC installed on a separate partition for games and the thought of having to "upgrade" to Windows 11 at some point in the future is nightmare inducing.

With how reliant governments are on privately owned social media platforms I sometimes feel some open source social media platform should be run as a public utility so that public communications are at the mercy of wealthy megalomaniacs though I don't know how that would work in practice.

The only issue I’m really running into is that it says subscribe pending on some communities when I try to subscribe but I’m assuming that’s due to being overloaded etc…

Try refreshing the page after smashing the subscribe button

My guess is that pictrs and/or nginx is not set up properly. My guess (because of the ``) is the error message is that the UI is getting nginx's error page when trying to make a request to pictrs to upload the images.

They aren't worried about matrix because ever since Musk bought Twitter people have suddenly started caring about mastodon and activitypub. Not that I agree with the toot but the assumption is that corporate actors can use this scenario and mastodon to jumpstart their twitter alternative or something like that. Because of this mastodon has been getting a lot of attention. People don't care about matrix yet.
