Docker compose files are pretty easy and straightforward. Find a service and goggle "x docker compose"

Proxmox core, Ubuntu server vm for all your docker compose services.

As a web dev, I use a highly optimized vm running centos (centmin) .

This way my Plex + 30ish companion services separate from my dev projects

It came in handy today when I spinned up three windows vms to test some software

That's why I ditched enterprise equipment. I prefer not to sleep next to jet engines

A lot of people self host for themselves, family, friends, clients. It's easier to say "hey, login to x service at homelab.com"

If you do everything within the network, I guess you don't really need a domain

Change the domains nameservers to cloudflare, add eu domain in their dashboard.

You absolutely could run both on the same machine. What matters most is the quality of the IP and how you configure the server

I like traefik because I just add a few lines in my docker compose files and it takes care of all the SSL renewals automatically

Setup an uptime Kuma server and they banned me without any warning or notification 😑
