Would you explain better you set-up? At least a reference to the underlaying system. Is it kubernetes?

What is your "legacy phone"?

Slow down is a great book

Where do you live? US?

This is the only book I read about the topic after "Less is more". Compared to it, it is much more formal and theoretical, citing the several stages of evolution Marx thought. It consider capitalism impact on climate change too

Do you use B2 storage?

I have recently repurposed and old Hp Stream to a home server and successfully run Immich. I really like it and even a small 500GB disk is way more than the 15GB Google offers.

My issue though is about backup. I would only be comfortable if all the data is backed up in an off-site server (cloud). But the back up storage will probably cost as much as paying for a service like ente or similar, directly replacing Google photo.

What am I missing? Where do you store your backup?

What are the benefits of Kubernetes in a home server?

I ended up trying it. In theory it's all nice and useful, because it solves the part that I am not comfortable with (router settings, domains and other connection stuff). But then I don't know Kubernetes so I couldn't understand what I was doing and I was not able to troubleshoot it. And I could not connect to my server remotely anyway.

I would add file managers like midnight commander, ranger, and so on

I only tried a tiling WM for a few days several years ago. I am ok using the terminal but not everything can be done easily there. In the screenshots of people setups, there are always fancy terminals. Are tiling WM good also for other GUI a part from terminals?
