My VPN connection appears to change whenever I connect, because it's connecting to the quickest server, so I am not able to use the same settings in qbittorrent. How do you manage server shifts like that?
Got an explanation for how to do this?

It's almost like the legal system is made to be obscure and obtuse by design. Difficult to know what's going on there as a lay person.
They are appealing temporary restraining orders, which are not legally appealeable! TROs are extreme methods of relief designed to stop something from occurring that has a huge risk of irreparable harm, and are temporary so that the court can actually take the time to weigh the issue.
Usually a TRO is issued for 2-3 weeks, the court takes that time to come to grips with what's happening, and then can rule with a better understanding. If you could just appeal a TRO, then you could just take the action that causes the irreparable harm faster than any court can effectively rule, which is why they're not supposed to be appealeable.
So yes, appealing a TRO is dystopian and illegal, but who can stop it? The supreme court eventually...
Because teenagers are dependants and the parents are responsible for their wellbeing. Since humans wish to and need to reproduce, society has ultimately decided (for better or worse) that the best way to protect everyone is to make children the responsibility of their parents until they are adults. The adults made the decision to have a child, and so that child is their responsibility until they child can be responsible for themselves.
Frankly? This sort of response above is unhinged. If this person is as awful as you say, just get them out of your life and move on. Trying to document everything, calling their friends and family, spending this much time on someone who is awful and not worth the time nor the effort? You're going to drive yourself crazy and somehow they're still going to be in your life making you miserable.
I'm sorry this person is terrible to you, but the best "vengeance" is forgetting all about them and being happy doing what you want to do. The more space they take up in your mind, the worse you're going to feel about the whole situation.
Before I came out as transfemme, I was in the city of Manaus in Brazil, traveling during Carnaval. Manaus is not terribly popular with foreigners, and I stood out as very white, very American, and very blonde, so lots of people would stare, want to talk with me, randomly touch my long hair, etc. All normal travel things.
During a concert however three guys were actively watching and inspecting me, all turned away from the stage to do so. They'd turn to talk to each other, and then turn right back to stare at me. Not so normal, and I was getting a little spooked and thinking about an exit plan, when they all came right up to me with a phone out.
One shouted over the crowd as he showed me his phone, "This you?!" and showed me a picture of Kurt Cobain. Hilarious, and seeing Kurt in a dress of course is even funnier now in hindsight. I said no, pointed out that he was dead, shook a couple hands, and they wandered off. Fun times.
