In use Voyager for my daily driver here on this account and Jerboa for my NSFW account.
I love Voyager for the "hide read posts" and the some of the sitting and layout stuff. I like Jerboa for the erections!

Probably missing some, but these are the ones I can remember right now. I think Schindler's List should be required viewing by everyone before they graduate high school. I remember when they used to air it on regular TV, unedited and uncensored, commercial free. I feel we were nicer and more willing to avoid wars back then.
I ain't ashamed to say it, I cry every damn time I watch it.
Meanwhile some deaf, mentally impaired, black dude gets tased and beat up by police for the crime of... Checks watch... Being black and unable to hear the officer.
I remember this kind of shit when I worked at Caterpillar. I always assumed the requested permission messages just disappeared into the void. Of course, I was IT so my requests were usually asking for more than they'd want their help desk staff to have.
One use-case for me has been converting code from a language I know to a language I don't. Usually, just small snippets. The code is usually full of holes, but I'm good enough with the logic to duct tape those puppies!
A monkey with a stethoscope.
Given the municipality, it wouldn't surprise me if it was a Phoenix PD officer who did it.
Glad you're still here with us!
I count 8 lives used. Next hole punch gets a free death.
"We lost" to a career politician, of whom does really great with prepared, political settings, but sucks monkey balls at any setting involving normal human interaction. Waltz has never seemed that comfortable with prepared talking points, he's too much of a dad, and exudes that down-to-earth vibe that hopefully resonates with some voters who don't like career Democrat politicians, but feel what Waltz has to offer all.
Vance is a politician, Waltz is a neighbor. Vance does well in official, political settings, that's all.
Isn't this just the Golden Rule? I've tried to live like this everyday for 20 years, but it can be difficult in this day and age. Most people don't think like that. It's easy to hold the door for people or say thank you, but it's hard when you don't receive the same courtesy. Jokes on them, though, cause they'll burn in hell!
I don't run my own instance, but one concern I see grappled with by instances, at some time in their existence, is how to handle image storage and embedding. I won't pretend to know the options or have opinions on which to use or how to resolve the larger issues, but I see that as a large hurdle to mainstream, in addition to the points referenced by OP.
