There are only a small handful of players I would take ahead of him going forward.

  1. Jokic

  2. Giannis

and for the rest I'd put him around the same tier as Luka/Booker/Tatum/Ant/Wemby(too soon).

The best part about his scoring is that it is consistent because he doesn't rely on 3's at all. His bag is huge and he can get to the free throw line at will.

Yeah he hasn't done shit in the playoffs yet, the Thunder's starting lineup is like 23 years old on average and they have an actual center now. By the end of this season I'd bet my life he's going to be viewed as a consensus perennial top 5 guy.

Last 3 seasons:

  • Beal: 5.3 3PA @ 34% vs taking 73.5% of his shots from 2 @ 53.3%

  • Booker: 6.2 3PA @ 36.1% vs taking 69.1% of his shots from 2 @53.3%

  • KD: 5.2 3PA @ 40.8% vs taking 72.1% of his shots from 2 @ 58.7%(!)

I thought KD and Booker would adjust a little more this season but they are already playing the same low volume game from 3.

What are they going to do just midrange teams to death?

Obviously the answer to that is yes, and it'll probably work more often than not but I can't see a team succeed in the modern game when their 3 highest volume scorers prefer spamming midrange shots even if two of them are god tier shotmakers from there.

I think he's going to peak as an 18-20ppg 3&D guy, and that's worth $25m/year imo.
