I’m a 30 year old woman who’s only really played card and puzzle games on my phone. Im considering new hobbies. Is it worth trying to get into video games for the first time. Where would I even start.

Going to name my kid [NULL] so he has a fighting chance.

I’m. Tired. I wish I wasn’t.

Oh man. This speech. I needed this, thank you. It’s so poignant and perfect. Every time I stumble on it every couple of years I feel moved and hopeful.

How you doing now?

And if you need to be told to treat women like people, maybe start with developing some friendships with no romantic interest or future. Social connections with no pressure will help.

I find that hard with online dating. Which is why I keep dating coworkers (and having that end up awkwardly).

“Ask me a fucking question” song is so real for women https://www.reddit.com/r/TikTokCringe/s/Z83qa5e4yp

Why not put a title on it? If you really like the person, enjoy the partnership, it’s been a while, you want to be exclusive, you want to introduce them around? Whats the harm of a title if you’re both excited about what it’s becoming?

How many recalls usually happen for new model vehicles?

Oh wow, it was painted in 1894 I had no idea it was that old. Still feels like such a modern painting.

Excellent. Also, I wonder if their cold weather affects people’s desire for cycling infrastructure in these areas.

I have a wonderful senior dog and he’s my best friend. And I’m so scared of his aging. As he’s slowing down and I keep an eye out for medical issues I just can’t imagine how and when to make a call about his life.

I work all day away from home and live by myself, which was not the situation when I’d adopted him initially. I don’t have a community or friends or family around to help during the day if and when it comes to that. I can’t afford dog sitters especially not ones with training.

What if he could be fine with more support and money, should I give him back to animal rescue?

I watch a lot of late night shows and British current events shows (have I got news for you, the bugle podcast). Really wish there was something equivalent for Canada. I know there was “this hour has 22 minutes” and Rick Mercer but I don’t think they’re around any more.

Any other Canadian comedic current events options?

“Basement dwellers” implies parents with multi level houses. I feel like the kid living with their parents for a long time will become more of a thing but they’ll be lucky to have the privacy and space of a whole basement.

And so I say, basement dwellers? In this economy?

I enjoyed the exchange of ideas here and the way things were described and debated. Made me happy to be on Lemmy.

I’m Canadian. And I’m already sorry for asking an ignorant question.

I know you have to pay for hospital visits in the states. I know lower economic status can come with lower access to birth control and sex education. But then, how do they afford to give birth? Do people ever avoid hospital visits because they don’t feel like they can’t afford it?

Do hospitals put people on a payment plan? Is it possible to give birth and not pay if you don’t have the means? How does it work in the states?

How does it all work?

Again. Canadian. And sorry.

In like, 2005-2010ish I remember there being these awesome online games through sites like Mini Clip. All disappeared from the internet.

I understood it had something to do with Java? Or… some plug in? I don’t really understand what either of those mean.

What happened to online games?
