Instagram is mostly influencer driven. The lack of which will get idolaters bored of pixelfed and move back to the zucks.

We should be able to bootstrap activityPub to GeoCities websites. WordPress integration is taking a long time.

Look at openAI trying to switch to a forprofit. It's hard to imagine signal surviving for longer especially that it is hemorrhaging a shit load of money and donations aren't enough to keep it afloat

Yes a fediverse version of Instagram. It relies on the activity pub protocol under the hood. Which makes it possible for example to follow like and comment to a pixelfed account from a mastodon account if you have one.

The fediverse has had a very low retention rate. My bet is that after a year MAU will come down to 60k. That is if meta doesn't embroil itself in another controversy.

What most Linux advocates hate to admit is that the abundance of distributions discourages software makers from supporting Linux. Because then they will have to deal with bugs specific to each distribution, desktop environment, window manager, x.org or Wayland, and thousands of other variables. Imagine having to spin up a different virtual environment for each use case. It's a nightmare that isn't worth it for them.
