The Direction générale de l’armement (DGA), the French procurement and technology agency carried out the inaugural test firing of a sounding rocket carrying the V-MAX hypersonic glider demonstrator on June 26, 2023.

“Equipped with many on-board technological innovations, this flight test was an unprecedented technical challenge that prepares the future of our national hypervelocity roadmap,” the DGA commented the day after the test. “France is one of the only countries in the world to have credible expertise in this field.”

do you know you can also convert subreddit into RSS feeds ? don't know if it will work after 1 july but it's an option

[–] myself33@beehaw.org 3 points 1 year ago (5 children)

yes, i began to test : some post are real advertising and are annoying. You should be more selective on the RSS sources

good idea : you can have a look to 'beehaw' instance comminities : it can be a good base for your project

I don't think so : in mastodon, people knows they can federate. After trial and error process, they choose their instance based on reliability, moderation and the topics inside.
I think lemmy/kbin will follow the same path.

a few days ago, i was skeptical about the duplication of several communities with the same name in lemmy/kbin. But i understood it's in fact a darwin process : only the best communities will survive. I think it's even a bonus feature versus reddit

reddit ? what is it ? a new platform ? is there anybody here who knows what it is ?

[–] myself33@beehaw.org 17 points 1 year ago (7 children)

i miss some reddit communities, but for a basic usage, lemmy/jerboa replaces reddit without problem.

i wonder if all this big social platform will not end with lots of fake profile feeded with chatgpt. For your information, I'm NOT a chatgpt comment 😜

yes, i agree : there should be an option to subscribe to the 'global' community or only to the 'local' community

[–] myself33@beehaw.org 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

you're right. it's not really a big deal if you know how lemmy works and understand you subscribe to a 'local' community.

[–] myself33@beehaw.org 0 points 1 year ago (4 children)

well, it's confusing for new user like me : you have the feeling that as soon as you subscribe to a community, you interact with the same community on all instances. Forbid duplicate names could be a solution

what's stopping 8 different instances from hosting a 'politics', 'funny', 'fediverse', community?

these duplicate communities defeat the goal to replace reddit.
