Yup, 11 games on December 6th (22 teams that don’t advance to Knockout Rounds) and 13 games on December 8th (22 teams that don’t advance to Knockout Rounds + 4 Quarterfinal losers). -Evan

There was a lot of discussion about how to form the groups, and we decided on the current model for a few reasons - it helps maintain competitive balance between the groups, creates a connection between multiple seasons similar to Champions League, and allows us to have a group draw every year which we think will grow into a fun annual event for teams and fans. We’re very open to changing different aspects of the tournament in the future if we thought we could improve the competition or make it more engaging for fans, so the group formation could be something we revisit. -Evan

I started as an intern in the NBA’s Team Marketing and Business Operations group when I was getting my MBA, and then began full-time after graduating business school in a group that was then called Strategic Development focusing on league-level business strategy. My passion has always been for the game on the court though, and I’ve been fortunate to have my role evolve over time into one that uses those same strategic principles but focuses primarily on basketball. -Evan
