I'm not sure he would have ran again even if Biden stepped down in the most graceful way possible to be honest. The second time he ran I remember him saying a large part of why he did was because people kept telling him how much they felt the country needed him, while he himself was having doubts on his ability to fill the office in his age, or weighing the amount of stress it would bring, and even looking at his vote totals and wondering if the country even wanted him as president. He's gotta be tired, and my take on Sanders these past 8 years is if Trump didn't exist he'd have been a happily retired grandpa, and he's just trying to do whatever he thinks has the best chance to stop Trump and American Fascism in general. This perspective seems to make a lot of things line up including this verbal thrashing of his. He does have access to communication with top democratic play-makers, who knows how long hes been telling them something like this.

Bro I may sabotage it until I get dismissed and use that insider information to short his stock. See how elmo likes being on the losing end of stock manipulation.

I know this is cliche as hell, but only you are going to be familiar enough with your position to be able to know if you can effect change, prevent harm, or if your labor won't be able to do much but perpetuate things you stand against. Id wager it wouldn't happen all at once, but eventually you may see a red line you don't want to cross. Use the time you have now to keep an eye out for a job listing that looks like a Cinderella slipper, and if you start seeing that red line coming up before that happens, then start to seriously consider whatever offers you can find that seem workable to you.

I feel like Harris didn't even need to explicitly say she would fix the economy or change everything as much as she just needed to come out and say shes aware the economy is not working for everyone. When voters who feel economically dejecected see someone say nothing is wrong, they get the feeling no one is going to help them. A little acknowledgement would have been great.

Trump didn't gain voters, Democrats lost voters. The people didnt see Kamalas message and switch to Trump, they saw her message and stayed home.

Yep Naomi Klein has a book titled The Shock Doctrine that has explored this. Its a good read if you haven't already.

Im using this comment to make myself avaliable for communication for anyone who's considering getting a gun. The only thing I like more than guns in the face of fascism is taking gun culture back from the chuds and giving it to the people who are actually at risk. I've introduced many of my friends to firearms both on and off the firing line. Anyone reading and curious can comment or message me, I will do my best to give good, safe advice appropriate for your situation and flat out admit if I don't have the answers you're looking for.

Mutual Aid networks and Direct Action groups. Build paralell power structures. Even a violent revolution is useless if we don't have these bases to build progress on, and if we're really really lucky, we may even be able to avoid violence with such a network.

During a visit to a clients family home, I heard his younger sisters bashing their homework assignment because the teacher wanted them to give positive arguments for dropping the nukes on Japan in addition to arguments for not dropping them. I knew I got taught propaganda long ago when I was there but damn that caught me off guard.

Thats supposed to be part of public education, which is why the party of dumb people keeps gutting it. We have the system in place, its just intentionally broken.

If you want real answers lets unpack why the Democrats messaging was to insist the economy is doing well when people have stagnant wages and have to spend more of their income by percent on food and housing. Everyone I know who makes about the same as me is completely unsurprised by this election, but the ones well off enough to believe the party line on the economy are completly shocked. This is the disconnect the dems need to address.
