NV Energy sold its California electric assets to Liberty in 2009 and agreed to keep supplying power temporarily. That arrangement was extended in 2015, again in 2020, and once more in late 2025, and each time because Liberty had not yet secured an independent supply

Yeah I'm confused here. Seems like the local utility was supposed to have started figuring this by 2015 but they didn't do anything so NV agreed to another 5 years. Then nothing was done so they agreed to 5 more years. Nothing done locally again and now NV are going to oblige with their contract. 17 years is a long time to do nothing then blame the other guy

I hear you that these companies would make excuses just to make the executives more money. Wish someone in my government had the balls to yell bullshit but they all just see the project dollars and know they can use that number to get re-elected. Politicians are cunts

We will all be picking up the tab to shield these places in the future in the name of public health and safety. The hyperscalers won't pay when they can plead ignorance and have the tax payer pay to fix it for them. Problem with data centres is once they are online, changes are very slow. Any datacentre with five 9's or above will only allow small incremental change each year. While this is faster for single tenant datacentres, it won't be a quick fix.

It's different planning. People in cars tend to take everything 'just in case' instead of just what they need. Realistically, if you live in a metro area then if you leave with your wallet and some spending money you don't need to carry anything

That's the ones

Happens in Australia too though I think in Victoria you are meant to put out witches hats if your car is in the street

They still make single row ones. We have many at my workplace. Usually tradies that work for larger businesses or local governments use them. Smaller trade businesses generally the dual/super cab ones. They do have their uses but most people don't use them for that purpose.

Ranger XL single cab or Hilux single cab still around. The Holden Colorado was my favourite as someone that did a lot of long drives but that doesn't exist anymore.

At the end of the day, most people want to drive a bigger car because they feel safer when though the bigger vehicles are the problem.

I stopped because the phones now have a 60 second wait time. It's frustrating when all you want to do is install something you have used forever. Fuck google

Walking around a period time tourist site and everyone was smiling and happy. Very stark contrast to all the idiots beeping and cutting in in the carpark.

We would all be happier with no cars on main St.
