I was being a bit loose. You can video record people in public -- just not audio. Any audio on your video recording device makes it illegal.
There are 13 US states like this

Where I live, recording someone without their consent -- even in public -- is a crime.
I have personally argued both sides on this. Over time I have come to favor it.
EDIT: some background

Summary: yeah, major governments legit do warfare by meme
I think this is a Winnie-the-Pooh-in-China situation.
Plenty of people are willing to honestly or sarcastically put aside their feelings about groypers and MAGA, and show their support for one who is in their eyes Redeemed.
But doing so is literally like begging for the Party to come visit you. So you have to do something just oblique enough. Like carrying an umbrella "in case it rains"
So I'm looking up "Tyler Robinson" and Etsy has only MAGA. Nothing like the St Luigi which is what I want.
Normally I would use Grok to do a face swap but somehow I think that would get me a personal visit with Tulsi Gabbard that I do not want.
So I'm searching around and I find this: Replicas of Charlie Kirk shooting suspect Tyler Robinson's T-shirt On Sale
This shirt appears to have come from the Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF), the Guardian reported.
One shirt on needshirt, for sale at $17.49, is described as a "funny political T-shirt."
One listing on Etsy showed a shirt with the description "Land of the Free Home of the Brave Shirt Bald Eagle USA Flag Tee Patriotic American T-shirt Charlie Kirk Shooters Shirt, Kirk Shooter Shirt."
Can anybody find a link to someone selling Tyler Robinson swag? Or get ballsy and sell some yourself?
EDIT: Found some on Ebay , they are selling like hotcakes
Christopher Hitchens was IMO one of the greatest orators of the 20th century.
"Our responsibility is to hate our enemies, and to destroy them before they destroy us"
He was referencing militant religions (or as he put it elsewhere, "people who actually believe the words in their Bronze Age religious texts")
Zeihan's take is basically that Trump is speedrunning what took Putin and Xi each ~10 years in their own countries.
He's created an information bubble around himself and removed anybody competent several layers from the top down, replacing expertise with sycophancy.
He's often wrong about details, but I think in this case he's pretty much nailed it.
You keep using that word. He does not think that word means, what you think it means.
