I recently bought a home, and even though I get screwed in a sense if prices plummet, I completely agree they should. Homes should be primarily to live in, not an investment mechanism. There's nothing wrong with owning an appreciating asset, be it a home or anything else, but it's not the government's place to guarantee that (other than bonds they issue, obviously).

The Prime Minister represents the people of Nepean in Parliament, whether they voted for him or not, and he heads the Canadian Government on behalf of the citizens of Canada. A more correct title to your post would be "I disagree with the Prime Minister". It's absolutely right that this cabinet is trying to have their cake and eat it on housing: increasing supply and magically preventing prices for existing units from depreciating. That being said, and even though it's besides the point: the Cons would done worse.

I won't watch because I'm utterly uninterested in this, but if I wanted to, I'd find a way to pirate the stream πŸ΄β€β˜ οΈ

It's amazing how different the YouTube experience can get depending on your preference. When I'm logged in, I never see anything remotely similar to this garbage, I guess YouTube knows me and that when I am served low quality content I downvote and block. But when I open the front page from a different browser, it's just a cesspool.

This was a great interview. The problem though is that I'm not sure how these really good ideas from his book can be brought closer to reality.

I watched it, was mid. I was hoping for something more adult oriented.

I don't like when they do it. More generally I don't like their chemistry.

To my knowledge it's not supposed to differ.

If you trust that the client (which is open source) is doing what it's supposed to do, security-wise I don't think there's a difference between self-hosting and using Bitwarden's service.

No, you don't need to trust the VPS provider. The VaultaWarden password storage is encrypted, and the master password is never transmitted to the server. The passwords are decrypted only locally on your device.

I read it in my head in his voice.

For files I just use WebDAV that's built in to Apache. It's really not fancy, but does all I need.

This might be a good compromise: https://www.fairvote.ca/rural-urban-proportional/

Here in downtown Toronto, ridings are tiny (in terms of area) and the borders are pretty arbitrary, with people on the same street sometimes represented by different MPs and MPPs. It's honestly a bit ridiculous, myself and two friends who live within a couple of minutes walk have two MPPs and three MPs! (Federal and provincial borders are different this year) I'd really be much happier if the whole city becomes one multi-member riding. With Rural-Urban Proportional, rural areas keep local representation kinda like now (FPTP) but get the benefits of proportionality from the regional top-up. I think it's a reasonable, if not perfect.
