So she’s going to raise a brilliant mind that ends up having zero empathy or emotional intelligence? That’s going to be a miserable life for everyone involved.

“I got fired for no reason! I was a top performer!”

It’s because you’re an asshole that got along with no one at work. My dad was also a top performer but had empathy and compassion. He left a high-paying field because of miserable assholes with no emotional intelligence.

I worked somewhere that had a principal engineer that stuck around for years at a job. Everyone I talked to disliked them. Every single person. They were abrasive, argumentative, and not receptive to anyone’s ideas. There were even examples where they took credit for the work of others. The only reason they were kept around was because they had the ear of the CTO. When they finally left, everyone was publicly happy about their departure and we got to start undoing their shitty decisions.

Often times it’s simply who you know, not what you know.

I’m no electrician and even I know that you don’t bury Romex lmao. Good lord.

Edit: now that I think about it, the previous homeowner of my house used to have a fountain out front that has since been decommissioned… I found the wiring for it in a box under some gravel around where the fountain was.

Fair enough. They’re trying to reach the broadest audience they can. The sad part is the folks that will actually listen and give a shit is a dwindling number on Xitter. They’re better off posting to both if not already. A massive swath of users that would be more receptive moved to Bluesky or left social media entirely.

My favorite is when one of the switches does nothing you can visibly see and you never find out what it’s for.

I don’t use any of them but Twitter has been rife with dipshits and racists for a long time now.

They could be using a platform that isn’t owned by a Nazi. Best approach though is using zero of them because fuck social media.

It is hard. When I was more active in local activist groups, the amount of people we would get at movie nights and other events varied heavily on whatever liberal fixation was currently happening.

It also doesn’t help that the US has zero concept of third spaces due to capitalism and industrialization. They don’t want people hanging out in spaces that don’t keep some constant cash flow going for parasites.

There’s this other thing called Bluesky.

Stephen Miller finding a partner just as appalling and repugnant as himself is quite a feat.

My wife and I threw a 40th birthday party for me and that’s it. That was nearly 5 years ago now and we’re probably never hosting a party ever again lmao.

I was super bummed when it reached EOL. I wish they would let folks host their own servers for it.

I recently started playing GTAV again and sometimes I’ll get in my car and let the radio stations play while I do house stuff. Favorite stations are the 80s one with Kenny Loggins, and West Coast Classics and Rock Radio.
