Two books:

  • Bullshit jobs by David Graeber
  • Crack-up capitalism by Quinn Slobodian

I don't think you should compare the two progresses. Technology is much better now. So, things will definitely move much faster than they did back in the 90s.

Good luck. Hope they don't deny this one, too.

So suspecting something is now a conspiracy theory? Gotta love the internet lol

Why do you need to calculate all of that in a fucking app? This is fucking stupid. Am I crazy for thinking that a supposedly highly trained men need a god damn app to train? They can't go to the gym like normal dudes and just workout like we all do????
And a smart watch can calculate steps???

I have an almost carbon copy of your hardware and I run endeavour OS dualbooting with a mini win11. Been doing it for about 3 years now. For software, I just install bauh and call it a day. This app has every thing from flatpaks to app images to the AUR (except snaps) and you go from there. I've been very happy with my set up. I have 4 separate drives in my machine so I have each OS on its own drive since windows loves to mess with grub every time it updates. Having them on separate drives makes it easier to recover if anything goes wrong.

EDIT: forgot to mention that I, too, play games and code on this machine. No issues whatsoever. I have KDE plasma on Wayland

I can feel it in the air. This is going to take off just like how wine and proton took off. We are going to go through another "Linux gaming" rush all over again and this shit is going to be fun. Let's go!!!

Right. But what can you do if your job has absolutely no interest in Linux? Force them? I've talked to some leads and managers and they laughed at the idea of using Linux. They just don't need it for whatever they do. And 100% of our backend is SQL and C#. And you know how much they drool over visual studio and all those MS products.
