I somewhat agree with you but whenever I stand next to one of those guys in a Lambo with a hot young girl who need to accelerate full BBRRAAAAAAAAAHHH until the next traffic light 30 meters down the road, I'll still assume you have a tiny penis and are trying to make up for it. This is the problem already. Instead of "something happened, the officers in charge are temporarily on hold until we have fully investigated this incident" it's immediately defending the indefensible.
I'm all for unions but fuck the police union with an umbrella. Defending workers rights is great but this is defending psychopaths, defending no and bad training, defending violence, defending an abusive system that by now has killed thousands over decades.

I had the good fortune to battle the CTO of a multinational who couldn't keep his hands off the employees. Everyone was too afraid to speak up, I was not. The CTO was fired. One day after he fired me with the full support of HR, because "you are incompetent in your job". Mind you this was after multiple stellar reviews of my local superiors
How is this any different from theft? These people should be sent to jail. If one of these homeless kids would steal $100 in goods from any store there is a good chance they'd have to sit in a jail cell for a while.

Child abuse and sexual assault are both taken VERY seriously by law enforcement and justice systems world wide. The thing though is that at least here in the west we have this pesky principle of being innocent until proven guilty, which is a good thing (TM).
It basically makes.sure that there is a preference of criminals not being convicted over innocents being in jail. Again this is a good thing.
It does cause, however, that sometimes criminals go free, and they they do, it's with good reason; by law they are innocent, still.
Now you might think: well, then let's go vigilantism on his ass, right? No. If you kill this guy or girl extrajudicially, you are simply murdering someone, and you deserve to be jailed, the end. It sucks that not all rapists can be jailed but that means that it can't be proven, and that is the point with rape: a lot of times it's a he said-she said. If she claims it was against her will, he says that she contented, who do you believe? If a child claims that he or she was abused for a long time, we won't always be able to prove it either.
It's not as simple as saying that the law doesn't care.
