Please don't use serif fonts for UI elements. Imagine the buttons on your file manager being Times New Roman. (eww.) I think what you're looking for is a monospaced font that's designed to distinguish O/0, I/1/l, etc.

Plug for one of my favorite fonts: https://www.jetbrains.com/lp/mono/

My mom has loads of these Le Creuset pots.

I actually got almost half of my colleagues to use Signal. Well maybe they probably still use another chat app even when talking to a fellow colleague who has Signal, but at least I got them to register an account.

I fail to see any reason for hating a chat app so passionately except possibly for privacy concerns, which is definitely not the case here.

Mine is not blocked yet. I am definitely worried about this though. I am in East Asia.

Wonder how much YouTube is going to squeeze out of this ad blocker blocking.

Try https://github.com/osfans/trime. It has multiple input schemas (i.e. pinyin, zhuyin, cangjie, etc.) to choose from, and they are great for typing Chinese. Admittedly it only supports the C in CJK, but it is absolutely worth a try if you don't need Japanese or Korean.

Try Thumb-Key. It's a keyboard made by Lemmy's main developer. It uses a rather exotic layout, but once you get used to it, it is so much better than qwerty.

What the hell is this news outlet? No matter how badly someone messed up, media should always refrain from using words like scabby or loser behavior.

Edit: I should make it clear that I do not object to anyone calling him a scabby person. It's just that news outlets should never do this.

Don't you all love democracy?

This sentence implies that you don't. Why don't you like democracy?

Yeah, I can tell this just from skimming their FAQ and Usage Guides. When they talk about the applications they offer, they always sell it as the most secure thing ever. I still personally care more about privacy than security though.

Firefox has always had been the most attractive to many people.

Hi. I was trying to set up 2FA in my settings, where there is a button named "2FA installation link." I right clicked on the button, copied the link, and put it into a QR code generator. I scanned it with Twilio Authy on my phone to add it. To my surprise, when I tried using it to log in, the generated codes simply do not work. I have 20ish entries on Authy and they all work, with the Lemmy accounts being the outliers. I have also tested the 2FA on my other account at feddit.nl, and it doesn't work with Authy either.

So, I tried using Google Authenticator instead. I used it to scan the very same QR code, and it spits out different codes from those generated by Authy. The ones generated by GAuthenticator work, whereas the Authy ones don't work. I wonder what the issue is?

Edit: grammar
