Boost always shows the instance regardless of there being a display name or if it's your local or a foreign instance.

Not sure if helpful but Boost for Lemmy has this feature. It's called "Muted Words".
As per the statement all remaining instanced will go down over time, though not sure how long that will take.
It also works with Amazon FireTV (Stick) or any other Android TV box / stick, just in case you have already one lying around. ;)
Does anyone know if microplastics in plant-based products really come from the plants themselves? Or is the product contamined during production or from the packaging?
Unpopular opinion: I hate Elon Musk and basically never thought I'd consider buying a tesla. But to be fair, I did quite some research and a couple of test drives with various cars and overall the model 3 is the best deal for my requirements. Especicially, it seems to be the most energy efficient car in that size and cost range. You can drive a model 3 with around 15 kWh / 100 km even in winter on the highway where competitors range around 18-22.
Regarding the two buttons for the turn signals: yes I'd probably prefer the old-fashioned approach with a lever but the two buttons are definitely not as bad as claimed in all the articles. I got used to it pretty quickly during the test drive and also in roundabouts it is practicable even thought not the most ideal approach.
I've always missed a rating/feedback/comment feature in F-Droid. A lemmy-based solution would be pretty cool.
Who is responsible to provide that fast food job? Does she have to apply for it herself? What if no one wants to hire her because of the bad media reputation?
Well, as long as the world won't ban yachts and cruiseships entirely, isn't it better to go as green as possible within the given boundaries?
I think the controversy is pretty similar to the debate around electric cars. Sure, from an environmental standpoint the solution should be less and less individual transportation in favor of trains, buses etc.
But before we do not act at all I personally prefer if we at least slightly reduce the footprint of cars, yachts, planes etc. with new technology.
Furthermore, if environmental considerations start to become fashionable among the rich ('my yacht is greener than yours!') it might trigger a real change process.
Is it greenwashing? Sure. Would it be better if yacht manufacturers do not give any shit at all? Absolutely not. I at least prefer them to do the lesser of two evils.
Anyone knows if the crops were sold in some kind of kitchen-ready form (e.g. chopped into cubes already)?
I always thought salmonella is mainly an issue with animal-based foods such as meat, eggs, raw milk etc. and that veggies or fruits are only affected indirectly if they are washed with contamined water, fecals etc.
On mobile you could also have a look at NewPipe. It does not have automated downloads but it shows you a simple list of all the videos from your subscriptions without any algorithm-based recommendations. It shows no ads and is fully open source.
Also supports plenty of services other than YouTube.
Not for you today. Try again another day with proper shoes!
