I only read the headline but isn't part of it WOLED. Using dedicated white subpixels reduces the workload of the other pixels

Rename other users or hide certain characters. Im sick of people using emojis in their names but I don't necessarily want to block them.

You can filter instances and communities. For clarity, you mean blocking all users from those instances from your feed/comments? Do you also mean blocking all users from a community from showing up? If so that seems harder.
