I'm sorry but I disagree.
The last thing we want is for these states to accidentally reproduce.

God this is too real. One place I worked loved to pick odd company wide metrics too. Instead of just like "profit", 50% of our bonus would be determined by how low a % held stock was against revenue, globally... I worked in marketing. Needless to say the "bonus" did not motivate anyone.
Classic Kbin moment: The thumbnail is a photo of two kiwi birds from another post. I choose to believe these birds are also Trump's lawyers.
I think that's why framing the debate is so important.
And so on. This isn't about stopping immigration, it's about punishing those who do. [Too] Many will still support that, but it's a harder stance to take.
I won't rehash my opinions, they already been better said here, but I want to add I hate the phrase "close the border". What the fuck does that mean, was it open, did the last one in forget to close the door?
From the article, he is considering taking action "to restrict migrants’ ability to seek asylum at the US-Mexico border if they crossed illegally" which has a lot more nuance and is important to the discussion. So this will specifically affect people who have a legitimate claim to asylum, the border was never "open" to any migrants without it (or a visa).
So, what you're saying is, it's been a long road getting from there to here?
Tomorrow: 3 Million hacked smart fridges were used to spread misinformation that the 3 million toothbrush story wasn't true.
I'm in NYC and a big mac meal is $13 including tax in midtown according to their app. The one in the article is at some rest stop in CT and is almost certainly some franchise owner gouging, which is the real reason prices are so high.
Even in financial terms "sustainably" always pisses me off. None of these companies are trying to sustain, they demand constant growth to be happy. Never ending growth is never sustainable.
I'd argue running a laptop from the 00s is the least boomer thing to do. Buying a new Macbook every two years while complaining that you don't have enough money and joking about how you're spending your kid's inheritance is the boomer thing to do.
Agree so much on HBO. We just moved to the US and got the "Max" subscription and we're finding gem after gem, some of it a decade old. Like TV that rivals any great movie, amazing storytelling/directing/music/concepts. Still plenty of filler to sort through, but some genuine art in there.
No! How dare she accurately describe the problem with American democracy!!
