Is he? He was pretty hyped about how well Ukraine did in the early days of the conflict, actively tweeting about all the insane stuff that was going on. I think he was criticized for maybe speaking a little too openly about stuff that wasn't exactly public knowledge, but he didn't seem like a Russian asset from that perspective.

Definitely helps to be able to at least read and understand code. I remember the documentation being decent enough. IIRC it was a thing to provide scripts that look helpful but actually contained malicious code to do all sorts of nasty things to your in-game system. It's really cool.
