I mirror what Pxtl says, Messages frequently breaks where I can be messaging someone and maybe an hour or so later it tells me the recipient is "offline" and the message wasn't delivered! No fail over, just fails to send and only notifies me a random amount of time later.

That's actually one of the reasons I do not use Brave.

As an Android user, Google can't even standardise on a message app so it's a bit rich to expect Apple to follow Google's lead on this.

The letter x on it's own is not a trademark AFAIK. The distinct style of letter X is what would be the trademark. Because X.com and X.org are two completely different orgs with different brand identities there wouldn't be a problem.

I don't know who I care less about, "Meta" or "Celebrities".

What do you mean by a failed warrant canary? In most cases there is no clear failure because there's no clear plan in place to maintain them.

For example, if a website has a statement "we have received 0 warrants". When was that published? Yesterday? A year ago? More? Even if it has a date, say 6 months ago. What does that mean? That they only update it every year? Or maybe there were meant to update it they just forgot, maybe they aren't allowed to update it due to a gag order.

Due to the way each website does things differently with no clear guidelines, there isn't actually a defined failure case.

Too bad it's not an international privacy test. I really would have been interested to see how I scored.

It really depends how complex the gadget is. Each step will be at least an order of magnitude more expensive than the last.

  • Something that already exists that you can buy off the shelf
  • An off the shelf device setup with off the shelf software
  • A custom device made using easily obtainable parts
  • A fully custom piece of hardware

Yes you are correct. Another commenter pointed out I was getting mixed up between user styles and user chrome. Funny that we both considered how modifying user chrome could potentially impact viewport size! We both have paranoid minds :P

If anyone who downvotes wants to jump in and explain why instead of doing drive-bys that would be appreciated. I don't see any reason why this browser extension wouldn't be an effective tool if it does what it says.

I'll look into this. Thank you for the information.

Yes! That's exactly what is going on. My bad, I'll edit my comment to correct my mistake.
