The system being broken by design doesn't absolve anyone acting within it from the responsibility of their actions. No one is forcing anyone to game the system as effectively as possible to the detriment of the majority. Acknowledging the system itself is fundamentally broken is pointing out that its design rewards bad actors; bad actors are still acting badly and are responsible for those actions.

Ah okay. I was under the impression that the above poster was critical of the scientific method itself. But if we're talking about the corruption of the method by corporations and capitalists then I wholly agree that the system is broken.

Would you expand on how the scientific method is fundamentally flawed and any alternatives or improvements that you have in mind?

Using a password manager also helps alleviate the inconveniences highlighted in point 4. Logging back into a website isn't so bad when you can just auto-fill your way in.

I mean, tweets are pretty regularly cited on the news. Not sure how much more mainstream Twitter could become.

The Reddit exodus has begun! My only regret is not learning about lemmy and the fediverse before things blew up over there.
