On Mac OS you can run whatever you want.

For now. I really think Apple has been letting the entire macos experience decay on purpose. Then, they'll release a self-hosting xcode for iPad and old yeller the mac for good, as I am sure they have been dreaming of for years.

The technological incompetence of the cheeto crime organization is utterly unsurprising. The only thing they are good at is grift, and really, they could be much more effective at achieving their goals with just a few more functioning neurons. Thankfully, evil and intelligence don't often travel together.

By definition, if you don't feel like putting in the homework, you are ceding control to someone else. At that point, all bets are off. Even trustworthy entities can turn on a dime. Ease and full control are mutually exclusive.

I'm beginning to think many people here just want to throw money at a vague concept of "security" without having a crumb of a threat model in mind.
