Yeah, I was doing pretty much all that with trakt already, but wasn't sure if I was missing anything. I do like the ability to hide shows though.

I didn't know about showly and gave it a try, syncing it to trak.tv. What does this get me that I don't get through trakt.tv by itself? What am I missing?
I feel like these people could read and understand the Satanic Temples tenets and still try to blow something up.

Same when I was living in Spain. It was so quick and easy, I almost never needed assistance. There was a noticeable difference when ingot back to the States.
Pop_os is a good choice. It's a solid distro and a good introduction to Linux. You can distro hop later, start with something easy for now. I installed it as a dual boot in case I needed Windows for something, but this is the first distro I haven't felt the need to switch back.
But that might hurt the feelings of the sacred demographic: old white men!
What do you do about phone contacts? Since android phones seem to link them automatically, I haven't tried too hard to get away from contacts. The other two I've managed to do away with.
Interesting. With it being powered by Android, can you install anything from the Play store or are you limited? I imagine you can chat with friends via non-SMS means?
