Do you use cloudfare tunnel or a vpn like tailscale or wireguard ? Why would you choose of these over the other? in c/main@selfhosted.forum

I wish it was that simple. Some networks have rules in place to block personal vpn use. I have yet to run into one that blocks Tailscale.

I use Wireguard and Tailscale. Some networks block Wireguard connections. Tailscale always works.

How do you guys DNS? in c/main@selfhosted.forum

2 instances of Adguard Home (VM and Raspberry PI with adguard sync) using DOH upstream servers (currently Cloudflare, Quad 9, and Mullvad). Works like a champ, have not touched it in over a year.

Moving from AWS to Bare-Metal saved us 230,000$ /yr. in c/main@selfhosted.forum

No mention of software costs, ongoing software and hardware maintenance. There is no cookie cutter answer, it really depends on the specific systems.
