Reminds me of the Day Before

CEO : No, not that kind of forever
- We will move the mouse for you
- We will enable mouse accel when we think you would want it
- Pre-click the buttons
I didn't want to do this but RTFM!
Crowdstrike CEO: Did it crash the phone?
If there is a hot new game that I am interested in, Game Pass might be appealing because it allows me play a new game for cheaper. But I also don't play games very quickly, because I'm busy.
Steam allows us to avoid FOMO. I'll wishlist it, meanwhile I'll play my massive backlog. By the time I complete one single player game, the wishlisted game is already on sale and the game has matured with updates. It's perfect for the adult gamer.
- Most games use win32 while developing games
- it's a mostly open standard
- when you develop games using win32, you decide how you want to deliver the game to the customer (Steam,Epic, your OWN website, GoG)
- Steam can take a cut from your sales but if you don't like their policy you can deliver the games via other platforms. You have choice
- enter UWA. Games developed using this platform HAS to be delivered via Windows Store. The devs need to get a key which needs to be purchased from Microsoft.#
- Microsoft can disable Win32 apps, if they want, and all games (other than which are on Windows store) will stop working
- games from other platforms won't work on PC since they are win32. Your choice is removed
- Microsoft can ban you from the store, removing you ability to install apps
Time to take a knife and check for sure
Seriously /s Don't harm yourself!
Just standard corporate dark patterns
This is the biggest issue. Devs will make mistakes while coding. It's the job of the tester to catch them. I'm sure some mid-level manager said "let's increase the deployment speed by self-signing our drivers" and forced a poor schmuck to do this. They skipped internal testing and bypassed Microsoft testing.
Wait till you hear of how much COBOL in industries...
Some games I had issues with are Asseto Corsa, Beam.NG and ETS2 external mods (base ETS2 runs superb). I have seen that competitive racing is a genre which has a slight intolerance towards Linux. Many racing games also require hardware mods which may need some hacking to get it working. I understand it's a niche hobby but it is a problem.
